Silhouettes

The empty wall in my daughters room has been nagging me to fill it for I don't know how long. I've always loved the classic look of silhouettes so when when my sister made some silhouettes of her three boys for their room it sparked an idea.

This was one of those projects that I wanted to pay the minimal on. So, with fingers crossed I headed over to the dollar store, and with the most incredible luck I came across these beautiful frames.

I went through my stash of scrapbook paper and pulled out some coordinating colors and then printed the silhouettes right onto the paper from my computer.

Wall filled. Task completed. Money spent? $3!

Oh, how I love them . . .

  3. Absolutely adorable - I've been working a lot with Silhouettes lately too, ever since one of my Christmas projects I can't get them out of my mind.

You'll have to check out my blog in the next couple of days to see them.

I found the images online by doing a search for silhouettes and then adjusted them to the size I needed once they were in a Word document.

  7. OK--I raced to the Dollar Store yesterday to buy a frame like this and couldn't find one. I know stuff goes fast, but...did you get it recently? Or, maybe I should be asking which Dollar Store you went to? Thanks!

I went to the Dollar Tree in town. I got them last month, so they may not have them any more. Sorry!

  12. BEAUTIFUL! I am thinking of doing a silhoutte for my doggy for my sunroom! (Silly, I know!)

What type of printer did you use to print the silhouettes directly onto the scrapbook paper? I am assuming you printed on high quality, but I am wondering if an inkjet would do.

I have an ink jet printer, so that's what I used. I was really trying to keep this project simple and low cost.
