My daughter just turned four. She wanted a pink dinosaur party this year.
Here's the run down . . .
The Birthday Banner
Very simple project. It consisted of cutting out circles and letters (that I printed off my computer) and then assembling and stringing them together.
The Food Table
I made the "platter" that the grapes are on by hot gluing a plate on top of a cup. I stuck a golf ball inside the cup to weigh it down. I was going to make it tiered by placing another cup and plate on top of it, like I saw
here, but decided one was enough.
The plates are egg shaped. I picked them up during the Easter clearance. I thought they'd make great pink dinosaur egg plates.
The Cupcakes
I used the same dinosaurs that I created for the
invitations to make the cupcake toppers. All I had to do was print and cut them out. I liked the end result of the cupcake platter.
The Goody Bags
My daughter had fun helping me assemble the goody bags days before. She couldn't wait. I used gift sacks and filled them with a few small toys and treats. The boys got to take home a toy dinosaur, and the girls got to have a pink pony (since I figured my daughter was the only girl at the party who really likes dinosaurs). I then folded over the edge, punch it, and tied it with a ribbon.
The Games and Activities
T-Rex, T-Rex, Triceratops: My daughter came up with this one. I'm sure you've guessed it's the same as duck, duck, goose.
Dinosaur Says: This is your classic Simon Says game but with a dinosaur twist.
Hatching Dinosaur Eggs: The kids each got a dinosaur egg (balloon) that they needed to sit on to hatch it. Inside each balloon I placed a small dinosaur before blowing it up, so there was a surprise inside once their egg "hatched".
Craft: When the kids arrived they got to do a dinosaur craft. We had dinosaur pictures to color, stickers and stamps.
Pin the plate on the Stegosaurus:
T-Rex Relay: I found these dinosaurs among the stick horses at the dollar store. My daughter really wanted one and I thought they'd come in handy for her party, so we got two. The kids did a relay where they rode their dinosaur to the nest, snatched an egg (Robbin Eggs) in their spoon and then carried it back to the starting line where they got to eat it. Lots of fun!
The Happy Birthday Girl
Do you have any fun party ideas or games that were a huge success at your child's birthday party? I'd love to hear about them.
