Frame up-cycle

I have been seeing these cute dry-erase boards all over the internet so I thought I'd give it a try.  I went to the thrift store and picked up this frame for a whopping 49 cents.

I then picked out a pretty yellow color {to match my kitchen} and spray painted it.  It took a lot of layers to cover up that black!  Next I found some scrapbook paper in my out of control collection and printed  "Menu" and all the days of the week.

After putting the paper in the frame I have a cute new menu board for my kitchen! Super easy project with cute results.

You could use this same idea but without printing on the paper and use it as a dry erase board in a child's room or anywhere else in the house!

  1. I keep seeing this, and this really really makes me want to stop admiring them and start actually making them. I love the pretty yellow. Where in your kitchen are you putting this?

  2. I felt the same way! I kept seeing them and I'm glad that I finally did it because it was SO simple!

I have about zero wall or counter space in my kitchen... so I hung it up on the side of one of my cupboards.

  4. What a neat idea! That would be a great thing to make for the kitchen. I usually just print my menu plan out and hang it on the fridge..so not cute.
