Stop and taste the hot chocolate

There are so many great ideas out there floating around to do with your kids.  So many that you can never really do them all.  Want to know the best thing I've done in a long time with my boys?  On my son's birthday we mixed up a big batch of hot chocolate for our after school snack.  Nothing fancy just hot chocolate with one big marshmallow each.  And we topped it off with a few graham crackers on the side.  It was perfect for our special rainy day.

What simple fun have you had lately?

  1. We had a gas leak last night. So while waiting for the gas company to come we went and grabbed a $5 pizza and ate it sitting in the back of the van. Since I had the back seats out it was like we were in a tent. The kids loved it!

  2. Our simple fun is opening a new door on Lallie's Advent calendar and talking about the picture! She loves it and this morning, the first thing to do before anything was open a new door. Reminds me to take time out of our morning rush to sit and remember what Christmas and our "rush" is all about in the first place!

  5. My two sons and I had a pillowfight yesterday! So much fun, so much laughter! Isn't it great that doing the simple things create just as warm memories as the grand occassion memories.
