Aaronic Priesthood Theme for Young Men - FREE

My son is new to the youth organization at our church. He and his quorum have set a goal to memorize the new Aaronic Priesthood theme for the Young Men. The church website had a free download for the Young Women theme but there wasn't one available for the Young Men so we decided to make our own. I kept the design nice and simple and the lettering large and easy to read.

Feel free to print off your own 8.5 x 11 copy through the link below.

Download the NEW Young Men theme HERE.

Free 2020 Youth Theme Printables - Go and Do

I created some free goodies for the 2020 Youth Theme for my church. I wanted to share them here in case anyone else could use them.

The printable below I created to be a  8.5 x 11 binder cover but, of course, could be used for anything you want. I also have labels for the binder spines for the YW presidency and advisers. You can find them in the download link.

This is a 4x6 printable that can be printed on photo paper and framed if you'd like!

These bookmarks can be a fun and inexpensive reminder of this years theme to gift to the girls.

And here is a copy of the new Young Women theme. My daughter made this one as part of her Divine Nature value project and it inspired me to create the 2020 theme printables above. It can be printed as a 8x10 or a 16x20.

Enjoy!

Cub Scouts - Leave No Trace Principles

My 10 year old is working to earn his Arrow of Light for Cub Scouts. One of the requirements is to memorize the Outdoor Code and the Principles of Leave No Trace. To help him with the Principles of Leave No Trace I searched Pinterest for some sort of visual helps but wasn't able to find anything. I decided to make my own visuals and wanted to post them here in case they could be of help to anyone else. I have two versions available; one with picture cues and words and the other with just the picture cues. To print: 1. click on image 2. right click and copy 3. paste into a Word document and print.

I also found some little jingles to help you learn the Outdoor Code and Leave No Trace Principles over at scoutsongs.blogspot.com. Between these visual clues and the songs I think we'll learn these principles fast.

My Gospel Standards

I like to hang things on the walls of my home that have significance and so I have been looking for years for a cute version of My Gospel Standards.  I love the standards that are laid out and wanted a daily reminder hanging up so my children could see it, but I also wanted something that matched my style.  I searched all over Etsy and Pinterest but could never find something that I loved.  And so I took matters into my own hands and created something for myself.

If you would like to print this you can click on the image and then right click to save it.  This is sized to be a 16x20 poster which I then printed at Costco.

I love these reminders hanging in my loft now!  If you use this image I'd love to see what you do with it!  You can tag us on instagram @servingpinklemonade.  Enjoy!

Washi Frame and Free Printables - "Let's Get Crafty" Party

Last month I shared my daughter's "Let's Get Crafty" birthday party. It was so much fun! (You can find all the details here.)
One of the crafts the girls made at the party were these washi tape frames.

It ended up being a great craft for this age group of 9-10 year olds. I was worried that I might have chosen a craft that was too difficult or frustrating for them, but was actually surprised how quickly they were able to design their frames and how much fun they had doing it.

I picked up my frames from Michael's. I really liked this frame design. It's a cute style. I actually bought a variety of styles for the girls to pick from but every single girl picked this style frame. Go figure. These frames are such a good value at only $1 a piece. I had a coupon for an extra 30% off my entire purchase so they turned out to be a really good deal.

I bought a bunch of washi tape and the girls enjoyed picking out the patterned tape that match their rooms and to make their frame unique.

Here's how to make a washi tape frame:

Decide on what colors and patterned tape you want to use. Then place strips of the tape across the frame leaving a little extra hanging off each end. I started the tape on my frame at the top and moved downward. If I were to make another one though I would start in the center and moved outward to each end, this way the pattern will end up the same on the ends.

Once you have all your tape on the frame flip it over and use an exacto knife to cut off the excess tape.

You can see the exacto knife does a great job of making a crisp/sharp cut.

Here's the frame with all the tape placed on and the excess cut off.

I then applied a thin layer of  Mod Podge over the entire surface of the frame. This keeps the tape in place so none of it starts to peel off.

Here it is all done!

These are a few of the the frames the girls made on the day of the party. I loved the patterns and designed they chose to do. I did all the cutting with the exacto knife so this project kept me pretty busy during the party. Somehow I was able to get them all trimmed, covered with Mod Podge and dried before it was time for the girls to go home.

Here's the birthday girl with her completed frame.

I made a few different printables for the girls to choose from to put in their frame. They had fun picking out the saying they liked best. One the girls was excited to see the one that said, "Be so happy that when others look at you they become happy too." She told me it was her life motto!

Below are your free printables. Simple click on the image to enlarge then copy and paste into a word document. Enjoy!

Nerdy Valentine's

We were scrolling through Pinterest the other day and my 6-year-old was set on having these "nerdy" valentine's to pass out to his friends at school.  The only problem is that I'm a little stingy with my printer ink.  While those cards were super cute and colorful we decided to make our own "low-ink" version.  So, if you are still looking for a cute valentine for your little ones these are a simple solution!  Just print, cut, and adhere a box of Nerds with glue dots.

I made a variety of colors so you can choose your favorite or print them all!  Happy Valentine's Day!

Deluxe Fort Kit

My kids love building forts.  Like every. single. day.  They never get tired of it.  I even had to put a ban on fort building a little while back because their forts were getting massive and out of hand and messy.  I know I'm such a party-pooper mom!

Several years ago for Christmas Jeanine gifted our family some fort kits that she put together with sheets, clothes pins, and glow sticks.  These kits have been the best!  I mean really awesome.  With the rate that my kids build forts these kits have been a life saver.  It's so nice to have a bunch of large sheets that the kids can do whatever they want with and then when they're done they can just fold them up and put them back it the fort bag--and I don't have to worry about having to wash the sheets because they're going to go on someones bed the next day.

Not too long ago I was chatting with some moms and fort building came up.  The fact that building forts creates a mess of blankets and sheets is never fun for a mom.  I shared with them about our fort kits and they all loved the idea.

Deluxe Fort Kit

A few months ago I spied these cute sheets at Target for an incredible price and thought, "Those look like really cute fort building sheets." I grabbed a couple sets and made some fort kits for my sister-in-law and her family for Christmas this last year.  I love that the sheets come in their own little bag--it's perfect for packing and storing all the fort kit supplies.

Deluxe Fort Kit

I sewed some ribbon onto the sheets at each corner and then also at the center points of each edge.  This way the sheets can be tied to chairs, bed posts, railings--whatever's convenient for making your fort.  I used a lit match to seal the ends of each of the ribbons so they won't fray.

Sheets complete with ribbons for tying, clothes pins for connecting blankets/sheets together (sometimes my kids like to clip them to the inside "roof" of their fort and pretend they're bats) and glow sticks for lighting up a dark fort = the perfect combination.

I also created some little tags to attach to the fort kit bags to give the kit a finished look.
